Heather Doherty Guardado

Managing Director

As Managing Director, Heather brings extensive experience spanning decades in implementing sophisticated investment and wealth management strategies for ultra high net worth clients.  

Prior to joining NewEdge, she served as Portfolio Manager at Tocqueville Asset Management LP. Heather has also served as a Senior Advisor and Director of Economic Development for Governor Cuomo’s Office of Storm Recovery following Hurricane Sandy. 

She brings a diverse background in finance and consulting to her role. At American International Group (AIG), she collaborated with business units across more than 30 countries. Additionally, Heather served as a public affairs consultant for Shepardson, Stern and Kaminsky (SS+K), where her clients included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Blue Cross Blue Shield. 

She received a B.A. in History from Columbia College and a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) in International Economics from Columbia University. Heather has served on several nonprofit Boards and committees, including Start Small Think Big, Rattlestick Theater, and Fifth Avenue Presbyterian, and has previously held a position on the Financial Women’s Association and Women Presidents Organization.
