James is a founding member of the Cumberland River Group at NewEdge Wealth, where he provides personalized advice, investment solutions, and financial planning services to individuals, multi-generational families, and business owners in Nashville and the surrounding areas.
With more than twenty years of experience in private wealth management, James has built a practice centered on long-term client relationships, disciplined analysis, and a commitment to each client’s financial objectives. He focuses on developing comprehensive wealth plans that incorporate a client’s risk tolerance, return objectives, estate conservation needs, and tax planning considerations.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hobart College in Geneva, New York, and completed graduate studies in entomology at the University of California, Riverside, where his work applied computer science and statistical modeling to ecological research.
A Nashville resident, James serves on the Board of the Preservation Foundation and is a member of Harbor Island YC, Richmond YC, Transpacific YC, and Pacific Cup YC. Outside of work, he enjoys sailing, traveling, and spending time with his wife Travis and their two children.
