Steve served as Vice Chairman of Omega Advisors, a long/short equity hedge fund, from 1999-2019. Steve joined Goldman Sachs in 1976, where, over the course of his career, he was a Partner and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs & Co., Co-Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee and partner in charge of the Global Investment Research Department.  Prior thereto, he was a manager of the Common Stock Department at Prudential Life Insurance Company.

Steve has served as a Trustee of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Mount Sinai Hospital as well as on the investment committee, and is a past member of the investment committee of the UJA-Federation of New York.  Steve was a member of the editorial board of the Financial Analyst Journal and was selected to the “All-America Research Team” by Institutional Investor for 16 consecutive years. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the New York Society of Security Analysts and a former trustee of the Security Industry Institute.

Mr. Einhorn earned an MS in Finance from the University of Illinois and a BA from Rutgers University.
