Tate serves as Principal, Regional Director, Business Development, where he brings nearly three decades of experience in the industry. In this role, he works with prospective ultra-high net worth advisors and teams to assess whether joining NewEdge is the right move for them and their clients.
His diverse wealth management background gives him a unique perspective on business strategy, execution, and growth. Before joining NewEdge, he was an Executive Director, Branch Manager at Morgan Stanley. During his time there, he raised over $1 billion in NNA in 2021 and 2022 and grew the financial planning rate from 12%-17% in 2022. Additionally, he has held previous senior leadership roles at companies such as Ameriprise Financial and RBC Wealth Management.
Tate has distinguished himself in the industry, being named by On Wall Street as a top 75 Branch Manager, as well as being awarded the 2018 Ameriprise Outstanding Leader Award as the Top Complex Director. He holds Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 63, and 65 licenses.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut and earned a B.S. in Finance. He currently resides in his hometown of Fairfield, CT, with his wife and three sons. Outside of the office, Tate can be found playing golf and watching his sons play hockey and lacrosse at Fairfield Prep and Boston College.
